Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Machining and Gear Manufacturing

Gear Motions is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support CNC machining, production flow, tooling, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a precision gear manufacturing environment.

This is a full-time, onsite engineering role for someone who wants to work close to production, partner with operators and supervisors, and improve how parts move through the shop. The right person will be active on the floor, involved in daily problem solving, and comfortable supporting both people and process.

Gear manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required. We are open to candidates with strong experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, fixtures, process improvement, manufacturing engineering, or production support who are willing to learn gear manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

Support CNC machining and production processes to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput

Review drawings, tolerances, tooling needs, setups, and process flow to identify improvement opportunities

Partner with operators, supervisors, quality, and leadership to troubleshoot production issues

Develop and update work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing standards

Assist with tooling, fixtures, process changes, and continuous improvement projects

Support root cause analysis related to scrap, rework, downtime, quality concerns, and production delays

Help improve repeatability, flow, and communication between engineering and production

Provide practical engineering support directly on the shop floor

What We’re Looking For

Manufacturing engineering experience in machining, CNC, precision manufacturing, metalworking, or a related environment

CNC machining, CNC programming, tooling, fixture, setup, or process engineering exposure

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing documentation

Experience supporting production teams and solving practical shop floor problems

SolidWorks, CAD, ERP, or manufacturing documentation experience preferred

Gear manufacturing, gear grinding, gear cutting, or gear inspection experience is a plus

Strong communication skills and comfort working with operators, supervisors, and technical staff

Pay

$80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience
