Position Summary
Titomic USA, Inc. is seeking a motivated and innovative Entry-Level Cold Spray Materials Scientist to support the research, development, and commercialization of advanced cold spray technologies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to apply their knowledge of materials science and engineering while working alongside experienced scientists and engineers on cutting-edge additive manufacturing, coating, and repair solutions.
The successful candidate will assist with materials characterization, powder evaluation, process development, laboratory testing, and customer application projects supporting the aerospace, defense, space, energy, and industrial markets.
Essential Responsibilities
Materials Research
- Assist in the development and evaluation of metallic powders for cold spray applications.
- Support research involving titanium, aluminum, copper, nickel alloys, stainless steels, and other engineering materials.
- Participate in laboratory experiments to improve cold spray deposition performance.
- Assist in documenting experimental procedures and results.
Laboratory Testing & Characterization
- Prepare samples for metallographic analysis.
- Perform optical microscopy and assist with SEM, EDS, hardness testing, and other materials characterization techniques.
- Collect and analyze laboratory data.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and test records.
Process Development
- Support optimization of cold spray process parameters.
- Participate in process improvement activities to enhance coating quality and deposition efficiency.
Powder Evaluation
- Assist with feedstock powder inspections and testing.
- Measure particle size distributions and evaluate powder characteristics.
- Help maintain powder inventory and traceability records.
- Support supplier qualification activities.
Product Development
- Assist engineers with development of new cold spray applications.
- Support prototype builds and proof-of-concept projects.
- Participate in product validation testing.
- Help evaluate repair and coating solutions for customer applications.
Customer & Engineering Support
- Assist with customer demonstrations and equipment trials.
- Support installation and commissioning activities as needed.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and business development teams.
- Provide technical support for internal product development projects.
Quality & Safety
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Support AS9100 quality system documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Security Requirements
- U.S. citizenship without dual citizenship is required.
- The Employee acknowledges that the position requires verification of I-9 information through E-Verify.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Internship, undergraduate research, or laboratory experience involving metals, coatings, additive manufacturing, or materials characterization.

Technical Skills
Preferred familiarity with:
- Optical microscopy
- SEM/EDS (academic experience acceptable)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic statistical analysis
- Engineering data collection and reporting
- CAD software (preferred but not required)
- MATLAB or Python (preferred but not required)

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
