Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support students within a school setting. This vital role involves assisting children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, in their daily educational activities. The PCA will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to foster an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes learning, independence, and social development. Duties

• Provide personalized support to students with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day
• Assist students with classroom activities, including literacy and math exercises, tailored to individual learning plans
• Support children’s social and emotional development through mentoring and positive reinforcement
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote appropriate classroom conduct
• Help with daily routines such as toileting, feeding, mobility assistance, and sensory activities as needed
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional materials and facilitate effective communication between students and staff
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to educators and parents regularly

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of special education practices, including working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education techniques
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies confidently
• Experience in tutoring or mentoring children in literacy or math is advantageous
• Certification or training in childcare, Montessori methods, or behavior management is a plus
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• Pa Crimina background check within a year (Preferred)
• Pa Chile abuse Clearances within a year (Preferred)
• FBI Fingerprint cogent within a year (Preferred)
