Minimum Requirements:
BS in Physical sciences and 3-8 years of EPA sampling and analyses experience using GC/MS for the analysis of Volatile organic compounds in Liquids and air samples. (EPA Methods 8260, TO-14 and TO-15) Must have both hands on analysis, trouble shooting and maintenance experience with GC’s and Mass Spectrometers. Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time sometimes with little notice. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team. Must have excellent Communications skills both Verbal and written.
Advanced degree in Chemistry, 40 Hour HAZwoper training, Experience with Triple Stage Quadrupole Mass spectrometers operated in the (MS/MS) mode, Extensive EPA analyses background, NELAC certification experience.
Duties will include:
Provide analyses of Air samples supporting Vapor Intrusion studies for the EPA using a Mobile platform (Bus) deployed to sites. And provide emergency responses will be utilizing three Instruments a triple stage quadrupole Mass Spectrometer operated in the (MS/MS) mode directly sampling air, a GC/MS sampling Tedlar bags and a Fixed Gas GC. In addition, will perform R&D studies to enhance the capabilities of the mobile facility in support of EPA superfund analyses.
