Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.

And a minimum one-year customer service or clerical experience in an office setting.

Equivalent combinations or education and/or experience will be considered

Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties.
Human Resource Support
-
Serve as the first level of customer support and resolution for incoming calls, emails and walk-in inquiries from employees regarding HR matters.

Acts as a representative of the human resource department by providing assistance to visitors to the office and on the telephones; determines human resource services needed; researches sources of information and provides answers to questions requiring a considerable knowledge of human resource services; directs individuals to another appropriate staff person if necessary.

Assist with coordinating, scheduling and distributing Civil Service and paraprofessional assessment tests.

Responds to routine complaints and inquires by explaining human resource office policies and procedures, verifying or correcting records; determines when the situation is escalating and must be referred to a human resource administrator.
Data and Records Management
-
Processes paperwork and documentation needed to support the human resource function; ensures that forms are complete and accurate and that all the proper authorizations have been received.

Opens, sorts and reads incoming correspondence in order to refer to the appropriate staff person; responds to routine correspondence as authorized by human resource department administration.

Manage main HR and Talent Acquisition group email accounts and assist with updates to the HR website as necessary

Maintain employee personnel files including adding new files, and retrieving records upon request.

Submit background checks for employees and volunteers, reviewing results according to established guidelines.

Perform routine screening of employment applications based on position qualifications.

Complete employment verification requests.
-
Perform password resets within PeopleSoft HRMS system.
-
Process new hire employee paperwork and documentation.
-
Distribute and manage incoming and outgoing mail.

Provide support for open enrollment inquiries.
-
Provide backup support to the SEM front desk as needed.
-
Serve as a backup to the management assistant for unemployment paperwork and AESOP/Frontline maintenance, and other data entry tasks.

Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule
This is a 12 month position working 40 hours a week
Pay range for this position is: $23.78 - $29.16
Maximum hiring step = step five (5)
