Overview:

As a Williams A/C & Heating Apprentice, your job is to assist & learn. We are looking for motivated individuals wanting to break into the HVAC/R industry. This job is ideal for candidates that have completed a 2 year degree program for HVAC/R Technician Certification, or have at least 1 year of in field experience as an HVAC/R helper or Apprentice. This job role aims to train the Apprentice for the remainder of the state required hours, and promote the employee to an HVAC/R technician. This is not an entry-level position, and there are pre-requisites that must be met before a candidate can be considered for this position. This role will regularly interact with our customers and work with different members of the Williams A/C & Heating team.

All candidates MUST have the following to be considered:

• Completed a 2 year HVAC/R Technician Certification course, or have 1 year of proven in field experience.
• Universal EPA License
• Clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Basic understanding of hand & power tools
• Good communicator
• Professional appearance
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds over your head
• Be coachable and open to in-field guidance

A great candidate will have most of the following:

• A interest in HVAC and Refrigeration
• Experience with email, and other productivity software.
• Entry-level HVAC diagnostic skills
• Experience in customer facing job roles.

A day in the life of a Williams A/C & Heating HVAC/R Apprentice looks like:

At 8 am (unless scheduled otherwise), the Apprentice will clock in at our office and retrieve their service assignment from the office manager; any new field assignments will be assigned to each Technician as they become available, and Apprentices will assist their assigned Technician on all jobs for the day. After receiving assignments, the Apprentice and their assigned Technician will head over to their assigned service calls and complete them. After each service call, Apprentices are responsible for loading all company equipment used on the job back onto the service truck. The Apprentice is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of both the job site and the service truck. The Apprentice may be asked to assist in the customer walk-through or explanation of services after a job has concluded. As work progresses, it may be necessary to make a parts run, and Apprentices are expected to make those runs while their assigned Technician is on site. Apprentices are responsible for logging parts used on a job into the database as they are used. This process is repeated until 5pm or until the last job is finished for the day. Apprentices are off for all recognized holidays and weekends. If Apprentices encounter new potential customers during work or outside of their working hours, they are encouraged to log those potential customers in our database; all Williams A/C & Heating Service Team Members are eligible for our generous commission structure in addition to their standard salary. Key Job Duties:

• Drive the service truck to and from service calls.
• Make regular runs to parts houses to retrieve parts needed to complete jobs.
• Assist with installations, repairs and planned maintenance of HVAC Equipment, Refrigeration Equipment, Hot Surface Equipment and Ice Machines.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of job sites, service vehicles, and the shop.
• Enter parts into our operational system for easy reference.
• Gain the necessary hours to become a registered technician.
• Perform Planned Maintenance services for HVAC, and Refrigeration equipment.
