JOB DESCRIPTION:
Some BCBA roles are built around screens, reports, a single room, and supervision hours. Ours is built around people, connection, and interaction within enriching environments.
If you became a BCBA because you enjoy teaching, collaborating, mentoring, and actively shaping outcomes, you will likely find this role energizing. If you prefer observing clients working 1:1 with an RBT in a room separate from others via telehealth, you will not.
At Grand Valley Behavior (GVBSC), a BCBA owned company, BCBAs are present — in sessions, in problem-solving, and in coaching - supporting the moments where progress truly happens. We are looking for BCBAs who want to practice behavior analysis in real time alongside RBTs, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams, not primarily through telehealth or paperwork review. While appropriate treatment planning and program modification time is ensured, we are looking for BCBAs who enjoy in-person interactions.
At GVBSC, our team recognizes the critical impact an individual's daily routine and their interactions with those closest to them have on their development. Our team also recognizes that a client's interests provide critical, naturally occurring learning opportunities that we can teach through. Inherent in intrinsically driven interests is motivation, a tool which can be used to enhance attention and engagement, two necessary components of learning. With this understanding, GVBSC emphasizes the use of Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT), along with naturalistic environment teaching to provide ABA services for clients, ages 2 through 21.
What You’ll Actually Do Here:
Our BCBAs don’t just design plans — they help make them work
· Provide real-time support during sessions to ensure treatment implementation fidelity and to support RBTs in developing
clinical judgement
· Collaborate directly with caregivers, schools, and other providers
· Provide services in the center, community, and home-based settings
· Contribute to a culture where learning is shared and celebrated
The Kind of BCBA Who Thrives Here:
Again, you will not feel comfortable here if you want a telehealth or documentation-only role. We are a team that can be silly and playful with clients one moment and engage in healthy conflict that contributes to individual and company growth in another. We value diversity and understand that different perspectives, shared respectfully, enhance all our capacities.
Why This Role Matters:
We serve children with moderate to severe behavioral challenges and believe high-quality ABA requires presence — physically and clinically. Our BCBAs help build staff competence, caregiver trust, and community understanding of what effective and respectful behavior analytic care looks like. You are not just managing a caseload. You are shaping how services are delivered in this community.
GVBSC empowers clients and families to build meaningful lives based on their strengths, needs, and goals. We operate from the belief that growth requires vulnerability — for learners and professionals — and we support that through kindness, integrity, accountability, and teamwork. We are a collaborative environment where clinicians support each other and celebrate progress together.
