A prominent and well-respected client in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Cook to join their growing household team.

Daily duties will include housekeeping and laundry, with light cooking support when the principals are in residence. A flexible, service-minded professional who takes pride in their work will thrive in this role.

This individual will work alongside a House Manager/Chef and other Housekeepers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping and deep cleaning tasks assigned
• Perform proper care techniques for fine surfaces, artwork, antiques, and luxury materials
• Help with laundry, ironing, folding, and organizing closets and drawers
• Assist the Chef with cooking support when the principals are in town. This includes preparing simple breakfast items and serving breakfast. It might also include making a light lunch or helping the Chef with an event
• Run household errands and assist with organizing supplies
• Help with guest service when the principals entertain

Qualifications

• Prior private cooking and housekeeping experience
• Excellent, verifiable references.
• Takes direction well and is eager to learn the ways of this residence; the House Manager/Chef and the Lead Housekeeper will mentor you
• Friendly, hardworking, and respectful with a team-player mindset
• Discreet and trustworthy, with a professional appearance and demeanor
• Comfortable providing polished meal support when the household is active
• Strong attention to detail and takes pride in a job well done
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Has reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule:

• Hourly rate: $45-$48/hour, based on experience and skill set
• Benefits includes medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), annual discretionary bonuses, life and disability insurance, holidays, overtime pay, uniforms,
• Schedule:
  • When principals are away: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • When the principals are in town, the schedule requires greater flexibility, with an anticipated 6:00 or 6:30 am start and some longer days
  • The House Manager is wonderful and always seeks to balance particularly busy visits with an additional day off.
