SUMMARY

The Production Technician is responsible for performing and supporting production builds and testing services, ensuring all repairs are completed promptly while upholding Ventex's highest quality standards. This role provides hands-on production support and develops technical expertise in the assembly, testing, diagnosis, and analysis of remanufactured and refurbished semiconductor equipment, including Canon photolithography tools. The position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment challenges and contributing to a high-quality production environment.

BASIC FUNCTION

Production Assembly, Testing & Troubleshooting

• Perform assembly, testing, diagnosis, and analysis of remanufactured or refurbished semiconductor equipment and subassemblies.
• Provide technical support for production builds while ensuring all work meets established quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues and support servicing and maintenance activities on Canon photolithography equipment (steppers and scanners).

Production Operations & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement production procedures and support continuous process improvements.
• Maintain production tooling and testing equipment in a safe, operational, and accurate condition.
• Ensure finished products meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Provide accurate and detailed daily pass-downs and documentation.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Communicate and collaborate with:

• Production Manager, Production Lead Technician, and other production personnel
• Internal Ventex teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Sales)
• External vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers
• Customers and field service personnel, as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work on equipment and computers for prolonged periods of time (while sitting, standing, bending, and lifting)
• Ability to use hand tools, electronic tools, gauges, and test equipment
• Ability to lift and handle equipment, parts, and materials as required
• Ability to safely work around industrial and semiconductor manufacturing equipment

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma with advanced electronics trade school experience and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a production environment; Associate's degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Four (4) to six (6) years of assembly, testing, and quality control experience in a production environment.
• Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, particularly Canon photolithography equipment, is preferred.
• Basic statistical and analytical business math skills, as well as good reading, writing, and spelling ability to communicate clearly and effectively on all technical and business levels.

Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard PC software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured.

LOCATION

• This position is based in San Jose, CA and requires regular on-site work within Ventex's laboratory and production facilities.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
