About the Role

RedDog is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Political Intern to join our team. This internship is ideal for someone interested in politics, campaigning, business operations, and learning how people get elected to office who wants hands-on experience in a fast-paced political consulting environment. As a Political Intern, you'll work closely with our recruiting and operations team, supporting the hiring process, onboarding, and day-to-day administrative tasks while gaining valuable real-world HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Review resumes and conduct initial phone screenings
• Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates
• Maintain and update candidate records in our applicant tracking system
• Help post and manage job advertisements across multiple hiring platforms
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate employee and recruiting records
• Support day-to-day HR and administrative operations
• Organize documents and maintain digital files
• Assist with calendars, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as needed
• Provide professional customer service to candidates throughout the hiring process

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) or Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Previous customer service, administrative, or office experience (preferred)
• Interest in Human Resources, Recruiting, Business Administration, or related fields (preferred)

Requirements

• Ability to work in person at our Midtown Sacramento office
• Currently enrolled in college or an associate's/bachelor's degree (preferred)
• Driver's License or Identification Card (Required)
• Availability to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours (part-time or full-time)

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
