Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Junior Mortgage Loan Originator to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Mortgage Loan Originator, you will assist clients throughout the loan process, help them navigate financial options, and build lasting relationships. You will collaborate closely with senior loan officers to learn industry best practices, ensure compliance with regulations, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.

Duties

• Assist prospective borrowers by gathering necessary financial information and explaining loan options clearly and confidently
• Support the loan origination process from application through approval, ensuring all documentation complies with industry standards and regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing laws
• Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and other financial software to input data accurately and efficiently
• Conduct basic credit analysis and risk assessments to determine borrower eligibility
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan processing
• Engage in negotiation with clients to find suitable loan solutions that meet their needs while adhering to compliance standards
• Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication, understanding their financial goals, and providing ongoing support throughout the mortgage process

Requirements

• Previous experience in loan officer roles or retail lending is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
• Familiarity with mortgage servicing, underwriting, and industry knowledge of financial regulations such as FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines is advantageous
• Strong skills in negotiation, customer service, and relationship building within financial sales environments
• Proficiency with Mortgage Loan Origination Systems (LOS), accounting software, and basic math skills including 10-key typing accuracy
• Knowledge of compliance standards including TILA, Fair Housing regulations, banking regulatory compliance, and mortgage lending laws
• Ability to analyze credit reports and perform risk assessments related to commercial or residential lending scenarios
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, contract explanation, and collaboration with team members
• Demonstrated understanding of escrow processes, contracts, mortgage services, and financial software tools
