Overview
Cross Roads Sow LLC (CRS) is seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team in an industrial, state-of-the-art, hog production facility. This role is essential for maintaining and repairing various types of common agricultural farm machinery and large equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety on the farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a passion for agriculture, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on essential buildings, farms, wash bays and equipment that operate within Cross Roads Sow LLC.
2. Inspect the equipment and facilities to ensure safety and function, promptly responding to maintenance needs by testing equipment, replacing parts and repairing equipment as efficiently as possible.
3. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
4. Reliably maintain, organize & ensure full function of the off-site livestock trailer wash facility.
5. Operate livestock trailers, attach or disengage trailers, move and organize trailers.
6. Operate tractors and perform seasonal field work
a. Mow, rake & bale hay on surrounding crop ground
b. Manure spreading
c. Snow plowing
d. Repairing pot-holes/maintaining driveways
7. Utilize basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to equipment repairs.

Required Qualifications
- Must have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintaining farm machinery.
- Familiarity with common agricultural machinery & equipment, their uses, purpose and maintenance needs.
- Experience in animal handling, particularly with swine or cattle, is a plus.
- Welding skills are advantageous for fabricating or repairing equipment components.
- Familiarity with computer programs and digital systems
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
- Basic math & literacy skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to repairs.
- Meet physical demands of the position. Lift 75lbs. Walk/stand on cement for long periods of time. Climb, carry, push and bend for physical activities of the job.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications
