Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: East Hanover, NJ (3 days Onsite)

Job Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee the general accounting function, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and safeguarding the organization’s assets. The role includes reviewing and analyzing finances, refining reporting documentation, and contributing to the strategic planning for accounting policies. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing specific contracts related to financial reporting and leading internal controls over financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Contribute to strategic thinking and direction by providing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations.
• Develop and implement accounting organizational strategies that align with overall organizational objectives.
• Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
• Provide guidance to departments on financial data collection and analysis.
• Manage cash flow by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
• Lead and direct the work of the accounting team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial operations.
• Support audit preparation by gathering and preparing necessary financial information.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
• Experience with Accounting, Purchasing, and Payroll software (NetSuite/ADP preferred).
• Previous experience in the biotech industry is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing financial information for audits.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline required.
• CPA designation preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the accounting field.
