About the Role

As a Production Inspection Technician within the Filtration Solutions Division (FSD) in Stafford Springs, CT, you will play a critical role in maintaining quality and production standards to ensure products meet the highest levels of excellence.
You will support manufacturing operations, perform quality inspections and testing, operate production equipment, maintain accurate records, and help ensure safe and efficient production processes. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment while contributing to solutions that help protect the environment, improve food safety, and support life-saving scientific advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Line Operator in operating production equipment according to work instructions, using judgment to correct problems as they arise.
- Exercise authority to stop production when equipment operation, safety, or product quality is at risk.
- Safely shut down equipment when necessary in the absence of the Line Operator.
- Perform quality tests and maintain accurate production and inspection records throughout the manufacturing run.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Process, inspect, and pack materials as they come off the production line.
- Seek guidance regarding quality standards and machine functions as needed.
- Follow all plant, company, and departmental safety rules and regulations.
- Report all safety hazards and concerns to supervision.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Properly label all products produced.
- Handle hazardous waste when required.
- Complete other assigned duties, including training assignments, as directed by department leadership or supervision.
- Perform all essential functions identified in the applicable Employer Job Description maintained by the Occupational Health Office.
Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing and cleanroom environment and requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.Work conditions include:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Standing for a full shift and the ability to stand for up to 12 hours when required.
- Exposure to loud manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coats, ear plugs, and other required protective gear.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Work with hazardous and toxic materials.
- Potential handling of hazardous waste.
- Operation of machinery and handling of materials in a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced environment.
- Cleanroom requirements prohibit hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, and similar items.
- Contact lenses are not permitted; prescription glasses will be provided when needed.
- Rotational day/weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills, including the use of formulas, decimals, and fractions.
- Knowledge of simple measuring devices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, including up to 12 hours when necessary.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in manufacturing, production, operations, laboratory, or a related environment.
- Basic machinery knowledge.
- Experience working in a cGMP/GMP-regulated environment.
