Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Primary Care billing & coding Specialist to join our team. As a billing and coding specialist, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records for billing and reimbursement purposes. Your expertise in medical coding systems and knowledge of medical terminology will be crucial in ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with coding guidelines.

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to identify relevant diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Assign appropriate codes using CPT, ICD-10, and other coding systems
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with coding standards and identify areas for improvement
- Assist in the collection of medical documentation for billing purposes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Skills:
- Proficient in medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10,HCPCS)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology SPECIFICALLY PRIMARY CARE
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in medical coding preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Primary care coding or related field

Must hold active CPC, in addition to having 2 years experience eCW.

Note: All positions at our company are paid positions including internships. This is a contract 1099 position.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.64 - $24.86 per hour
