Department Information
The Student and Campus Event Centers at Georgia Institute of Technology are dedicated to enhancing the student experience by providing a wide range of programs, services, and facilities. Our mission is to foster a vibrant campus community through the coordination and support of student activities, leadership development, and event management.
We oversee the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for all students and other campus constituents, managing the operation of programming spaces and advising programming board committees. Our team interacts with students, student leaders, student employees, registered student organizations, fellow staff members across campus, faculty, and external clients in the Atlanta community.

Event Management: Our staff advises student event planners through one-on-one meetings, committee meetings, and on-site event execution.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership, planning and operation of Student Center Facilities, SC Programs, retail/contract administration and mail services. Responsible for all aspects of assigned operations including finances, facility maintenance, contract compliance, capital improvements, productivity, event production, policy development and compliance, and staffing. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Institute executives, department managers, faculty and staff, students, alumni, contract vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: department managers, GT departments, students, faculty, staff, alumni, contract vendors. This position will supervise: associate directors and mail services manager.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Direct and administer all Student Center units and the Student Center Governing Board. Coordinate and promote the overall offering of programs, facilities and services to fulfill the social, recreational, service and educational needs of the campus community.
Job Duty 2 -
Lead full-time staff and part-time student staff to achieve high standards of performance, service and professionalism; plan strategically, prioritize activities, and lead a coordinated effort to achieve mission/vision.
Job Duty 3 -
Develop, manage and administer operating and capital budgets. Coordinate the development and implementation of capital projects; achieve revenue objectives, control expenses and develop new revenue streams as opportunities arise.
Job Duty 4 -
Administer and manage the campus-wide operational and contractual aspects of assigned auxiliary enterprises including dining, vending, laundries, retail restaurants, retail shops, caterers, bank ATM s.
Job Duty 5 -
Resolve complex departmental, customer and contractual issues; involve higher authorities and legal counsel as required; communicate and administer departmental policies
Job Duty 6 -
Measure department performance and produce reports and updates on progress toward organizational objectives.
