Novo Building Products is looking for a Merchandising Coordinator to be responsible for producing displays which can be placed in customer showrooms or at tradeshows, with the ability to use creative freedom in the building of both standard and custom displays. They will work with various departments of Novo in the process of display building by gathering materials for projects and preparing displays for shipment.
This position will be worked 100% onsite at our Corporate office in Zeeland, MI.
The salary range for this position is $45,000-$59,000
Essential Responsibilities
- Designs and assists in assembling portable and complete displays for customer showrooms or events such as builder trade shows.
- Maintains the merchandising area/shop, tools, equipment, materials, and general area, keeping it well organized, clean, and orderly.
- Efficiently uses power tools, hand tools and other supplies to build displays.
- Operates tuggers and saws in the warehouse while pulling display materials.
- Adheres to safety standards while ensuring that of those around them remain safe.
- Responsible for packaging or crating of displays for customers or builder trade shows.
- Creates efficiency improvements in the shop regarding production of displays and storage of products and shop materials.
- Creates quality concepts for displays, samples, and materials with adherence to budgeted cost on project.
- Adheres to departmental guidelines and procedures, has effective communication, and completes expense documentation and paperwork correctly for processing.
- Collaborates with various members of Novo’s sales and operations groups in meeting departmental responsibilities.
- Responds to issues and questions from management, vendors, and customers in a timely manner.
- May participate in selection and oversight of temporary shop personnel or an assistant.
- May assist in the negotiation of quotes for outsourced materials or services to guarantee quality and good pricing, as well as compliance with required standards.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry and ability to use hand/power tools and their safe use.
- Intermediate level of knowledge of all woodworking tools and their safe use.
- Demonstratable experience in or understanding for retail and warehousing environment with a working knowledge of displays.
- Ability to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
- Established time-management skills, strong work ethic, and passion to achieve goals while working within established company standards.
- High degree of accuracy with capability of basic math skills.
- Functional knowledge of computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
- Must possess and maintain a current unrestricted (other than for vision correction) driver’s license and acceptable driving record along with adequate on-going auto insurance on personal vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the millwork, lumber or building materials industry.
- Prior experience with woodworking.
Travel Requirements
- Travel primarily during the day
- Some overnight travel may be required
