We are seeking a Purchasing & Horticultural Operations Specialist to lead purchasing, inventory, and yard operations while serving as a trusted resource for plant materials and landscape products. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong vendor relationships, and understands the unique demands of the landscape industry. You'll ensure our crews have the right materials at the right time while helping maintain an organized, efficient, and well-stocked operation. If you have experience purchasing for a landscape company, nursery, garden center, or landscape supply business and possess strong horticultural knowledge, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Purchasing & Procurement

Purchase plant material, trees, shrubs, hardscape materials, irrigation supplies, soils, mulch, aggregates, equipment consumables, and other landscape products. Develop vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, coordinate deliveries, and forecast seasonal needs. Inventory & Yard Operations Maintain inventory, oversee receiving, organize the yard, stage materials, and improve purchasing efficiencies.

Horticultural Support

Evaluate plant quality, source specialty materials, recommend substitutions, and support designers and production teams.

Collaboration

Partner with Design, Maintenance, Tree Care, and Irrigation teams to anticipate material needs and improve purchasing procedures.

Qualifications

Experience purchasing for a landscape company, wholesale nursery, garden center, landscape supplier, or related green industry business. Strong knowledge of plant material and landscape products.

Experience with inventory management, procurement, and vendor relations. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Google Suite; purchasing/inventory software experience preferred.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or coursework in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Supply Chain, or related field; horticultural certifications; experience reading landscape plans; knowledge of Southeast Michigan plant material.
