Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the company maintains a reliable supply chain while achieving cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
The Supply Chain Manager leads purchasing activities across the organization, working closely with operations, engineering, quality, and production planning to support production schedules and new program launches. This role is accountable for supplier performance, cost management, and continuous improvement of procurement processes in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support manufacturing operations and business objectives
- Source and procure raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, and services required for production
- Ensure reliable supply of materials to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements
- Monitor market conditions and supplier risks to ensure supply continuity
Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support company growth and operational needs
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and service expectations are met
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Collaborate with suppliers on cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Cost Management & Negotiation
- Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier development
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for material cost savings
- Support company profitability through effective procurement and supplier management
Production & Operational Support
- Coordinate with production planning to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules
- Partner with engineering to source materials and suppliers for new product launches and program changes
- Support timely procurement of tooling, capital equipment, and production materials
- Ensure effective communication between suppliers and internal teams
Inventory & Supply Chain Efficiency
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing activities to support optimal inventory control
- Work with operations and materials teams to reduce excess inventory and improve inventory turns
- Support initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and responsiveness
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier contracts, and documentation
- Support audits related to procurement, supplier quality, and operational processes

Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5–10+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements
- Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and inventory management principles
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards and supplier requirements preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers and procurement priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills preferred

- Occasional travel to supplier facilities may be required
Physical Requirements
· Ability to walk the manufacturing floor for extended periods
· Ability to occasionally lift items up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to navigate manufacturing environments including production lines and equipment areas
Supervision and Direct Reports
· Position reports to the General Manager (Corporate)
· May supervise specialists and/or buyers
· Cross-functional coordination with production, engineering, and quality teams

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
