We are seeking a Preop/PACU and Recovery Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be monitoring the care of patients who are waking up from anesthesia. You will monitor a patient’s vital signs, assess their levels of consciousness, and watch for any side effects from anesthesia. Nurses in the PACU need to be expert communicators and collaborators. You will work alongside the physician, other nurses, and medical staff, keeping them informed of any changing circumstances during the patient’s recovery. You are also responsible for communicating with the patient and their family on proper post-op care, such as when to take medications and what to do if they experience pain. As a PACU nurse you will be working in a fast-paced environment, caring for one or two patients at a time and providing expert care before transferring them to their next destination.
