KMM Group is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead the team responsible for the final movement of precision-manufactured product to customers and the accurate receiving, handling, documentation, and flow of incoming materials.
This is not a back-corner warehouse role. At KMM, shipping and receiving sit directly inside the quality chain.
We manufacture precision components for demanding medical device, aerospace, defense, space exploration, and high-tech customers. That means packaging, labeling, documentation, inventory accuracy, traceability, and on-time delivery are part of the product experience. Your team is often the final set of eyes before parts leave the building and the first control point when critical material arrives.
-
Lead daily shipping, receiving, packaging, labeling, inventory, and material flow operations.
-
Manage a team of approximately 4–6 people across Shipping, Receiving, and Materials.
-
Ensure finished goods ship on time, complete, properly packaged, accurately labeled, and aligned with customer requirements.
-
Manage packing lists, shipping labels, carrier documentation, certification packages, customer-specific shipment requirements, and related records.
-
Coordinate with Quality Control to confirm documentation is accurate, complete, and ready to ship with parts.
-
Oversee receiving for raw materials, BOM items, shop supplies, outside services, purchased components, tooling, and other inbound goods.
-
Ensure received items are properly identified, inspected as needed, routed internally, and transacted correctly in ERP/MRP systems.
-
Manage finished goods inventory, including physical product control, inventory locations, job closure support, ERP accuracy, and traceability.
-
Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory audits, reconciliation, FIFO practices, and disciplined transaction control.
-
Maintain high standards for shipment paperwork, packaging quality, labeling accuracy, lot control, and record completeness.
-
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Department Managers, vendors, carriers, and customers.
-
Improve workflow, reduce delays, resolve bottlenecks, and support cost-effective shipping and carrier decisions.
-
Lead continuous improvement projects that make the department cleaner, faster, more accurate, and easier to run.
-
ERP/MRP and inventory management systems.
-
Shipping and receiving transaction processes.
-
FedEx, UPS, LTL/freight, carrier portals, bills of lading, packing slips, and shipment tracking tools.
-
Customer-specific packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
-
Finished goods inventory repositories and material location controls.
-
Certification packages, receiving records, traceability documentation, job closure data, and quality records.
-
Material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, carts, and shop-floor handling tools.
-
Cross-functional communication with Quality, CNC machining, grinding, EDM, inspection, cleanroom, purchasing, planning, and production teams.
-
Proven leadership experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, materials management, logistics, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
-
Strong understanding of shipping execution, receiving transactions, inventory accuracy, material flow, and physical product control.
-
Experience managing documentation accuracy, packaging requirements, labeling requirements, and shipment paperwork.
-
Experience using ERP, MRP, or inventory management software to support shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and transaction accuracy.
-
Ability to lead a small team, set expectations, coach performance, and maintain accountability.
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, traceability, and data integrity.
-
Ability to work cross-functionally with Quality, Production, Planning, Purchasing, vendors, carriers, and customers.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the judgment to speak up early when something does not look right.
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in ISO 13485 medical device manufacturing, AS9100D aerospace manufacturing, FDA registered, ITAR registered, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
-
Experience with customer-specific labeling, packaging, documentation, certification, or traceability requirements.
-
Experience managing finished goods inventory and job closure processes.
-
Experience with cycle counting, inventory audits, inventory reconciliation, and location control.
-
Experience with carrier cost optimization, freight coordination, LTL shipments, and vendor/customer shipment communication.
-
Experience supporting precision manufacturing, contract manufacturing, CNC machining, grinding, EDM, or production machining operations.
-
Experience with JobBOSS, Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP/MRP systems.

KMM Group is a precision contract manufacturer serving customers in medical device, aerospace, defense, space exploration, and high-tech industries. Our work includes CNC machining, Swiss machining, mill-turn, centerless grinding, OD/ID grinding, Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, cleanroom assembly, finishing, passivation, laser marking, and advanced quality inspection.
That means the parts moving through Shipping and Receiving are not ordinary. They may be tied to surgical devices, aerospace systems, defense applications, or critical assemblies where documentation and traceability matter as much as the part itself.
KMM is built around the idea of being Paid to Think. We expect people to notice what others miss, raise their hand when something looks wrong, and improve the process instead of working around the problem forever.
In this role, you will have the chance to lead a small team, tighten the flow of materials, improve inventory accuracy, strengthen customer shipment quality, and help protect the last mile of the manufacturing process.
