Teaching Assistant positions in the Finance Department typically could include, but are not limited to:
Hours will vary (5-20) depending on course complexity, the number of student, the number assignments, exam, quizzes and/or special projects assigned by instructor. Full course assignment will be given to the successful candidate in a formal offer letter. This will include room locations, times, and course titles. This is an exception hourly position, employees are paid biweekly, every other Wednesday.
The expected start date of the position is August 31, 2026. The position is expected to last through the Fall 2026 term with an expected end date of January 13, 2027.
This position will remain open until filled, which will be on or after August 1, 2026. The priority application deadline for this position is August 1, 2026.
This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Minnesota and the Graduate Labor Union-United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (GLU-UE).
The Carlson School Finance Department (academic unit) focuses on understanding financial decisions, markets, and institutions. Faculty research in these areas is internationally known and has been published in the best finance and economics journals. The department is committed to quality teaching at the undergraduate, MBA MSF, and PhD level.
Student positions are a form of financial support while pursuing an education at the University of Minnesota.
