The Matsuoka Lab focuses on elucidating the complex genetic mechanisms that drive the development of the mature central nervous system (CNS). Their research investigates how organ growth is coordinated with the formation of blood and lymphatic vascular networks, emphasizing that each organ develops unique vascular patterns essential for its specific function. With a particular focus on the CNS, the lab aims to identify the key genetic and molecular determinants that regulate organ-specific specialization of blood and lymphatic vessels. As a Research Student II Post Baccalaureate, you will work closely with research personnel and actively participate in a structured learning experience in laboratory or clinical research settings. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical procedures, data collection and analysis, and other related skills, providing valuable exposure to careers in biomedical and clinical research.
