About The Role
The Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements, and continuously improves manufacturing processes to support safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and resolve manufacturing challenges.
Supporting a rapidly expanding wire harness and renewable energy manufacturing operation, the Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in scaling production and driving process optimization.
What You'll Do
Process Engineering
· Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process documentation.
· Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Establish labor standards and process cycle times.
· Support manufacturing process validation activities.
Production Support
· Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process-related issues.
· Investigate production defects and implement corrective actions.
· Support daily manufacturing operations to improve throughput and quality.
· Assist with equipment setup and production readiness activities.
Continuous Improvement
· Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and labor inefficiencies.
· Support Kaizen events and process improvement projects.
· Monitor manufacturing KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
Documentation and Data Analysis
· Maintain manufacturing records, process documentation, and engineering change notices.
· Analyze production data and provide recommendations for improvement.
· Support ERP transactions and manufacturing reporting.
· Manufacturing BOM and Production Drawings ownership.
· Develop reports and dashboards using Excel and other tools.
Safety and Compliance
· Support safety initiatives and process risk assessments.
· Ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.
· Participate in audits and corrective action activities.
What We're Looking For
· Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
· Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
· 2-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
· Experience in electrical assembly, wire harness manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or renewable energy manufacturing preferred.
· Experience supporting production environments.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
· Experience with process improvement methodologies.
· Understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans, and Root Cause Analysis.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
· Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
· Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
· Basic CAD experience preferred.
Work Environment & Travel
· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures
· Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods throughout the workday
· Ability to occasionally lift and move items up to 50 pounds
· Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and navigate throughout the manufacturing facility
· Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor
· Ability to support flexible work hours as needed to support production schedules and operational demands
