Job Purpose
Coastal Container is expanding by adding a corrugator machine to our facility, which produces corrugated board for boxes. This role is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of corrugator and related production equipment including 480V 3-phase motors, AC/DC drives, PLCs, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and conveyor systems. The Corrugated Maintenance will support the safe and efficient operation of the corrugator by minimizing downtime, performing scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs), and responding to mechanical and electrical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions
Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on corrugator equipment and supporting production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair high and low voltage electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, mechanical components, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and conveyor equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving single facers, double backers, glue systems, slitter-scorers, stackers, and related corrugator components.
- Inspect bearings, rollers, belts, chains, gearboxes, and drive systems to ensure proper operation and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Setup, alignment, equipment and upgrades.
Technical Skills & Problem Solving

Utilize strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, production specifications, and technical manuals.
- Perform mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, and equipment adjustments as needed.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend process improvements to enhance production and product quality.
Corrugator Operations Support

Work closely with operators and production teams to maintain optimal corrugator performance.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
- Assist in maintaining proper temperature, steam pressure, glue application, and alignment settings for corrugator operation.
- Participate in scheduled shutdowns, rebuilds, and major maintenance projects.
Communication & Teamwork

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate maintenance updates, repair status, and equipment concerns with production personnel and leadership.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
Job Safety Analysis
This role involves working with high and low voltage electrical systems, steam systems, and heavy industrial machinery. Safety responsibilities include:

Follow lockout/tagout procedures
- Wear required PPE and follow all plant safety procedures
- Use proper lifting techniques when handling heavy components (up to 100 lbs.)
- Stay alert to pinch points, rotating equipment, conveyors, heated surfaces, and steam systems
- Maintain clean, organized work areas to prevent slips, trips, and falls
- Participate in ongoing safety training and meetings
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required.
- Corrugated or corrugator maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Technical Knowledge
-
Strong electrical and PLC background required.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery and industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance (PMs) on industrial equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, rollers, and conveyors.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in basic math and common measurement tools.
Educational Requirements

A degree or certification in electro-mechanical technology, industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field is a plus.
- Equivalent hands-on maintenance experience will also be considered.
Schedule & Hours

Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Potential overtime as needed based on production and maintenance demands
- Rotating Saturday schedule for preventative maintenance (PMs)
