Job Summary
Inventory Control Technicians are responsible to prepare completed pallets for movement and storage, and to identify and move packed products to the finished goods cooler. They will support the Stackers to stack all finished products for storage and removing product from the stacking line, move packaging, and operate the bin fillers. Interfacing with other departments to assure good working relations and efficient plant operations is a necessity.
All activities must be completed in accordance with legal, safety and customer standards, as well as all guidelines in the Employee Handbook. This position may be reassigned to other areas of production as necessary. Job duties may change at any time, with or without notice. This role is critical to Empire Fruit Grower’s purpose of providing high quality fruit to our customers.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
· Identify packed product and move to finished goods cooler
o Secure product for transportation to finished goods cooler, following all customer specifications
o Record packed product inventory
o Generate tag identification using inventory system (Business Central)
· Prepare pallets for movement and storage
o Operate electric pallet jacks to move fruit
o Tape, wrap and corner post pallets according to customer specifications
· Stack finished cases for storage
o Identify (visual through reading or product layout) all packed cases and store with identical product, following all customer specifications
o Ensure the correct pallet is utilized for finished product, per customer specifications
o Remove product from the stacking line and/or bin fillers
o Secure product for transportation to tagging area
o Remove full pallets from the stacking line and move to tagging area using an electric pallet jack
· Operate and maintain Taper
o Replace tape, limiting production downtime
o During taper box line jam, operate belt to reduce product damage and remove damaged product
· Operate bin fillers
o Successfully operate bin fillers to ensure efficient operations and to meet customer specifications
o Remove full bins from the bin fillers and move to tagging area using an electric pallet jack
· Miscellaneous
o Operate all equipment in a safe manner
o Maintain a professional image on behalf of the company, including positive vendor, member and employee relations
o Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure efficient production
o Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing, and always evolving work environment
o Willingness to learn new tasks and support in all functional areas
o Ensure a clean, safe environment for all visitors, employees, and products
o Adhere to food safety requirements, which are trained at orientation and throughout the season
o Comply with quality policies and procedures, provided at orientation and throughout the season
o Complete other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
· Effective interpersonal communication skills
· Strong computer skills, including troubleshooting
· Read, interpret and write
· Sharp attention to detail
· Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
· Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as required
· Compliance with all policies detailed in the Employee Handbook
Preferred:
· Prior experience operating electric pallet jacks
· Prior experience in a production setting
· Prior experience with production equipment and machinery
· Knowledge of quality assurance practices

Pay: $18.48 - $20.04 per hour
