Position Overview
The LADC + LP, LICSW, or LPCC Counselor plays an important role in the delivery of treatment services to the clients. They are responsible for ensuring that all clients receive services mandated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). In addition, they provide services to support achievement of effective personal development by working with clients individually or in group settings to identify and resolve issues including substance use, mental health, personal and/or emotional problems and family issues. The LADC + LP, LICSW, or LPCC Counselor must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required:
- Current LADC license
- Master’s degree
- Independently licensed or in post graduate supervision for one of the following licenses: Licensed Psychologist, LICSW, LMFT, LPCC
- Age 18 or older
- Demonstrated working knowledge in the field of Mental Health Services
- Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study
- Excellent written, communication, customer service, and case management skills
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, investigation and mediation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Possess maturity, patience, understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment. Lifting (max 10 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities
- Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English. Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English
Preferred:
- Minimum of 1-2 years related experience
- Conducts self in a professional manner
- High degree of computer literacy including experience using an electronic health records (EHR) system
