Business Analyst II
Onsite- St. Louis, MO
The Business Analyst in Disaster Recovery (DR) space designs and places contingency plans and recovery strategies to protect critical business data and information systems from damage and risks associated with natural disasters or human-made adverse events.
MAJOR DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
· Develops and plans testing activities for IT business resumption plans, including on-site testing at disaster recovery site
· Conduct Business Impact Analysis on applications and business functions
· Identify and analyze the gaps in current DR plans utilizing a risk management framework
· Develop relationships between dependent parties to narrow the DR gaps, Infrastructure, application (business and technical) and operations
· Perform risk analysis to identify points of vulnerability and recommend disaster avoidance and reduction and makes recommendations regarding critical points of failure and plan weakness
· Participate in Proof of Concept/Technology projects as a Subject Matter Expert for Disaster Recovery
· Advise architecture and IT teams on efficiencies when designing DR solutions
· Facilitate small to large size group meetings for technical design, problem solving and task implementation
· Provides input on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems
· Plans, leads, organizes and controls projects related to selection, acquisition, development and installation of IT systems for the enterprise
· Analyzing critical functions and defining the scope and impact of disaster scenarios
· Produce, create and report on standardization of documents in accordance with policy and procedures.
· Lead multiple teams in the review development, documentation and coordination of tactical BC/DR plans and resources to ensure disaster recovery operations are being followed in crisis situation.
· Lead Business Continuity and DR training and awareness efforts with application and business functions as needed
· Analyze technical and business requirements that drive critical business and ecosystem functions
· Lead efforts to identify business continuity scenarios, and contingencies and advise on business continuity and DR plans
· Serves as a DR liaison to technical resource and business partners for new application on-boarding as well as strategy changes to current applications and environments
EDUCATION OR WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree related to IT
3-6 years Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity background and/or other IT related experience in a technical or project management role
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English with effective communication skills
· Ability to speak clearly to both technical and management resources
· Strong understanding of project management practices and ability to manage and organized groups in a team setting
· Strong understanding of a wide variety of IT functions and technologies
· Ability to effectively work independently and in team environments
· Understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery best practices
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and IT Ticketing and Digital Management Work flow tools
· Understanding of Change Management practices, proceses and utilization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Knowledge of communications, cable television and/or Internet provider industry
· DRII/BCI related DR/BC certification with CBCP preferred
· Use of Fusion Framework BC/DR management tool or similar product
· Understanding of project management practices and procedures
· Use of Cherwell/Ivanti CMDB or similar IT Workflow ticketing system
