Internal Service Advisor (Reconditioning Coordinator)
Monday-Friday in an Air-Conditioned Shop!
Are you highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy leading people while keeping vehicles moving efficiently through the shop? Schwieters Chevrolet is looking for an Internal Service Advisor to oversee the complete internal reconditioning process for our dealership inventory.
In this role, you'll serve as the primary connection between our Sales and Service departments, ensuring every vehicle is repaired, detailed, inspected, and ready for delivery to its new owner. You'll coordinate technicians, detail staff, vendors, and internal departments to keep inventory flowing while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
What You'll Do
- Manage the complete reconditioning process for dealership inventory from arrival to front-line ready.
- Open, monitor, schedule, and close all internal repair orders.
- Coordinate daily workflow for internal technicians and the detail department.
- Track vehicle progress to ensure day-to-lot standards are being achieved.
- Oversee detail department scheduling, productivity, and supply inventory.
- Coordinate outside vendor work, including body shops and franchise warranty repairs.
- Perform monthly inspections of the dealership loaner fleet.
- Maintain organized, clean, and professional shop and lot areas.
- Meet regularly with the Pre-Owned Inventory Manager to review reconditioning costs and key performance metrics.
- Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce cycle time.
- Assist the Service Manager with transport damage claims, factory battery maintenance, and other operational responsibilities as needed.
Leadership Responsibilities

- Participate in hiring and onboarding detail department employees.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and annual evaluations.
- Address performance concerns professionally while supporting employee development.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Previous automotive dealership experience in service, reconditioning, or fixed operations.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable using dealership management software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
