Profile:
A Poynter Project Coordinator supports the planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and administration of either a single major project or a portfolio of smaller projects. Through the application of project controls processes and best practices, this position contributes to the successful execution of projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations. Serving as a key link between field operations and project management, the Project Coordinator provides accurate progress tracking, documentation management, and project support throughout the project lifecycle. This position works closely with field leadership, project management, and customers while gaining exposure to project controls, scheduling, procurement, and construction operations.
Essential Functions:
· Assist with project startup activities, including project setup, quantity takeoffs, cost code development, and short-term planning.
· Develop and maintain quantity tracking and progress monitoring tools for assigned projects.
· Audit installed quantities and physical progress in the field.
· Prepare, submit, and track submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation.
· Coordinate with field leadership, project management, and subcontractors to support project execution.
· Verify procurement status and delivery of required equipment and materials.
· Assist with change management by identifying scope changes, documenting impacts, and preparing comparisons.
· Maintain accurate project records, logs, and document control systems.
· Prepare project closeout documentation and support turnover activities.
· Conduct jobsite visits to gather progress information and support field operations.
· Assist with implementation and training of project technology and company systems.
· Support project scheduling updates and short-term look-ahead planning efforts.
Education & Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred.
· 0-3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, project controls, project engineering, or a related field.
· Internship, co-op, military, or trade experience may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
· Experience with Bluebeam Revu strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
· Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to learn new software, processes, and construction technologies.
· Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with field personnel, project teams, and clients.
Working Conditions
· Work is normally performed on a jobsite.
· Due to varied conditions, workers must know the hazards and safety requirements of each job and must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies for every situation.
· Travel and/or temporary, periodic relocation may be necessary
