Job Summary
GSG is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer/Project Manager to join our growing structural engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to lead the planning, design, and delivery of diverse building and infrastructure projects while serving as a technical resource, project manager, and client liaison. Depending on experience, candidates may oversee multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, contribute to business development efforts, and support the continued growth of the structural department.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering projects from concept development through construction completion.
- Plan, analyze, and design structural systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, municipal, transportation, and other building projects.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, specifications, technical reports, construction documents, and engineering studies.
- Design structures utilizing structural steel, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Utilize structural analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for design and project execution.
- Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Conduct peer reviews and oversee compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Support proposal preparation, client development, and business growth initiatives.
- Prepare material takeoffs, cost estimates, and engineering opinions of probable construction costs.
- Participate in construction administration activities.
- Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and structural evaluations of existing facilities.
- Support forensic investigations, rehabilitation projects, and structural assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
- PE license required; SE license or completion of NCEES SE exam preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Technical expertise with analysis software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Technical expertise with industry-standard structural software.
- Demonstrated experience leading structural design projects and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong technical background in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
