Job Description:
The principal responsibilities will include: planning and implementation of multiple/simultaneous large/small scale hospital facility redevelopment and new build projects; providing leadership to the facilities services team and external consultants alike; scheduling project programs from the functional planning stage through to contract completion, monitoring and reporting on all financial metrics; performing quality management responsibilities; prepares job estimates and timetables. Determines manpower needs and assembles team in conjunction with Department Director. At times, performs Mechanic duties and assists Facilities teams when needed.
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated ability in organizational and management practices related to the analysis and evaluation of construction projects, project programs, policies, and operational needs are required. Program budget preparation and control. Principles and practices of administration and supervision. Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures are all required. Proficiency using Project Management support software like AutoCad, BluBeam, or equivalent. Valid New York State driver’s license required. Asbestos Certification for Supervisor and inspector or project monitor classifications required or must be obtained within the six months of employee's successful completion of probation and must be maintained throughout the employee's tenure.
At least five (5) years experience in a health care construction project management is preferred. Construction project management, supervisory management, job budgeting experience, general construction experience, masonry, and millwork experience, knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing and electrical preferred or combination of high level of skills and experience in all listed trades required. Demonstrated ability to manage projects on budget and on time required. Two years driving experience required meeting criteria of the hospital policy dealing with qualifications of licensed motor vehicle operators.
