Company Overview
BNL Industries, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality valves and fluid system components used in the defense, nuclear power generation, process, and commercial industries. Since 1987, BNL has built a reputation for dependability, technical capability, and excellence in manufacturing.
At our core, we are a second-generation, family-owned company with a hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment. We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable staying close to the shop floor. The right person for this role will be able to lead an engineering team while also understanding the real-world manufacturing, testing, and customer requirements that drive our products.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background, experience with engineered-to-order or highly technical manufactured products, and the ability to balance design quality, production support, compliance, schedules, and team leadership. This is not a purely administrative management role. We are looking for someone who can provide technical direction, review engineering work, support problem-solving, and help ensure that designs are accurate, manufacturable, and compliant with customer and industry requirements.
Job Overview
The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering department responsible for the design, development, modification, documentation, and technical support of fluid system components used primarily in Maritime Defense and Nuclear Power Generation applications.
This role will lead Mechanical Designers and Engineers while also providing direct technical review and guidance on design activities, contract requirements, customer specifications, material compatibility, manufacturability, quality requirements, testing, and engineering change control. The Engineering Manager will work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Purchasing, and company leadership to ensure engineering projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations and applicable standards.

- Guide engineering change order activity, including review, implementation, documentation, and communication with affected departments.
- Coordinate engineering support for manufacturing, machining, assembly, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work with Production and Quality Assurance to resolve technical issues, nonconformances, drawing questions, and customer requirement concerns.
- Support prototype development, testing, test fixtures, and validation activities as needed.
- Help identify and implement design, process, and documentation improvements.
- Manage department priorities, project timelines, workload, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with Sales on technical review of customer inquiries, purchase orders, and application requirements.
