Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
- Instruct and educate patients and families on proper healthcare procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care
- Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards of nursing practice
Skills:
- Occupational health: Knowledge and experience in providing healthcare services in an occupational setting
- Care: Ability to provide compassionate and quality care to patients of all ages
- Venipuncture: Proficient in performing venipuncture for blood collection purposes
- ICD-10: Familiarity with the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision coding system for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Family planning: Understanding of family planning methods and ability to provide counseling on contraceptive options
- Athenahealth: Experience using Athenahealth electronic health record system or similar software for patient documentation
- Spinal tap: Competence in performing lumbar punctures (spinal taps) for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes
- Senior care: Knowledge and expertise in providing specialized care for elderly patients
