Research Associate - Postdoctoral Fellow
GENERAL DUTIES
Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.
Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding
Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data
Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings
Collaborates with internal and external colleagues
Adheres to standards for safety and hygiene and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Postdoctoral Fellow will join the Institute’s statistical analysis team and will play a key role in building out the data analysis infrastructure of the Institute. The individual in the position will have a Ph.D. in quantitative methods, social sciences (economics, sociology), and/or other relevant disciplines. A strong foundation in quantitative research methods is required as well as experience in using statistical software programs –such as Stata, SAS and R. The candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to translate research findings for a general audience.
This position is essential for the Institute to continue its timely data analysis in fulfillment of CUNY DSI’s mission of producing, stimulating, and disseminating innovative academic and policy research that contributes to the expansion of knowledge about people of Dominican ancestry. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will bring needed in-house cutting-edge data analysis expertise to CUNY DSI in the field of quantitative studies applied to the social sciences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
