Position Summary
The Sales Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities for our Account Executives. This role focuses on proactive outbound prospecting, lead generation, account research, and relationship building within the education technology market.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, energetic, comfortable on the phone, and motivated by creating new business opportunities. Success is measured by the quality and quantity of qualified meetings and pipeline generated.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Generation
- Identify new K-12 school district prospects, alt. education institutions, and education organizations
- Research technology directors, IT managers, purchasing staff, and district leadership
- Build targeted prospect lists using CRM, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, GovSpend, conference attendee lists, and other research tools
- Maintain accurate contact records within CRM
Outbound Prospecting
- Conduct outbound cold calls
- Send personalized email campaigns
- Utilize LinkedIn for social selling
- Execute strategic outreach cadences
- Generate qualified discovery meetings for Account Executives
Opportunity Development
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads
- Identify technology refresh opportunities
- Discover repair, buyback, warranty, and device replacement initiatives
- Understand district purchasing timelines
- Gather competitive intelligence
Sales Support
- Schedule meetings for Account Executives
- Prepare account research before customer meetings
- Assist with conference follow-up
- Support marketing campaigns
- Maintain organized prospect pipelines
CRM Management
- Update all prospect activity
- Record meeting notes
- Track outreach metrics
- Maintain pipeline accuracy
- Ensure all opportunities are properly staged
Market Intelligence
Stay informed on:
- Chromebook refresh cycles
- Apple device deployments
- Windows device programs
- Technology funding opportunities
- Education purchasing trends
- Competitor activity
Daily Activities
- 60–100 outbound calls
- 40–75 personalized emails

Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of BDR, SDR, inside sales, or lead generation experience
- Experience selling into K-12 or higher education preferred
- CRM experience (NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, GovSpend, or similar prospecting platforms
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

Compensation
- Base Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): Approximately $80,000 annually through base salary plus commission. Actual earnings will vary based on performance.
