American Laboratory Trading LLC (ALT), the leading reseller of premium refurbished lab equipment in North America, is currently looking for an Analytical Instrumentation Technician for an immediate opening to expand our service department operations in East Lyme, CT office. If you're interested in a challenging career with a growing company, ALT is looking for you. Working closely with the Service Manager & Senior Service Engineer, Successful candidates must demonstrate a history of excellent technical and troubleshooting skills on HPLC, GC, and other laboratory instrumentation & systems.
We're specifically looking for candidates who can service a combination of the following instrument categories:
· Liquid Chromatography
· Fast Protein & Ultra-Performance Chromatography (FPLC & UPLC)
· Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting
· Microplate Readers
· Spectrophotometers/Spectroflourometers
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibrations to ensure equipment is running efficiently & to manufacturers specifications.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fluidic, vacuum, and optical system issues.
· Troubleshoot chromatography issues such as pressure fluctuations, baseline noise, peak resolution problems, or detector errors.
· Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service activities.
· Maintenance and support of multiple vendor instruments & software systems.
· Ensure that quality system procedures and Health & Safety standards are always adhered to.
Minimum Qualifications
· Highschool Diploma or GED (Required)
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field (Preferred)
· 2–5 years of experience servicing or operating analytical laboratory instrumentation within the categories listed above.
· Strong understanding of analytical instrumentation, electronics, fluidics, and vacuum systems.
· Previous experience with customer service or direct interaction with clients is highly preferred
· Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
· Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures for Chromatography systems and related fields
· Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
· Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
· Effective communication with customers, technicians, & management.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
