Primary functions include:
· Creating, developing, and testing, & monitoring electrical systems and equipment to ensure that required specifications and standards are met
· Leading and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, including developing project schedules & budgets
· Overseeing the work of junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, and mentoring them
· Ensuring compliance and safety
· Working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants to deliver integrated engineering solutions, including hourly Union employees
· Identifying and addressing performance and production issues, maintaining and improving existing engineering processes
· Preparing and studying technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure that installations and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
· Keeping abreast of advancements in electrical engineering and applying new technologies when relevant or pertinent
Qualifications
· Minimum of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
· Minimum of five years’ electrical engineering and maintenance experience in a heavy equipment plant environment
· Three+ years’ experience with electrical CAD software for designing and stimulating electrical systems
· Required access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 CFR, 730 et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, protected individual as defined by 8 USC 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant governmental agency. Business demands may require the employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Preferred:
· Working knowledge of industrial computer control systems such as PLCs, motor controls systems, and man-machining interfaces
· Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office software and basic web tools
· Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for detailed work requiring a high degree of accuracy, are essential.
· Experience programming robots in ABB Capital Project Management
