Job Description: Managing Director, IME Brokerage Business
Position Overview
The Managing Director provides strategic and operational leadership for an Independent Medical Examination (IME) broker operating in multiple states. This role does not oversee direct clinical care. Instead, the Managing Director is responsible for optimizing the logistical workflow, scaling the nationwide medical expert network, driving business development with law firms, both plaintiff and defense, and ensuring strict compliance with state and federal legal standards.
Renumeration: Contract position based on $10,000-$11,500/month based on education and experience plus performance-based bonuses

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Workflow Optimization: Oversee the end-to-end case management pipeline from initial law firm inquiry to final report delivery.
- Tech-Driven Efficiency: Leverage and upgrade case management software to automate records collection, scheduling, and tracking.
- P&L Management: Drive company profitability by managing operational budgets, vendor costs, and corporate margins.
Network & Credentialing Management
- Expert Recruitment: Oversee the sourcing and vetting of licensed, board-certified physicians across diverse medical specialties.
- Credentialing Compliance: Ensure the expert panel maintains active licenses, clean malpractice histories, and up-to-date CVs.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with subcontracted medical experts, setting clear turnaround time expectations.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Law Firm Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with personal injury, medical malpractice, and defense law firms.
- Market Expansion: Identify new geographic territories or legal sectors (e.g., workers' compensation, no-fault or bodily injury etc.) to scale services.
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Ensure client law firms receive rapid matching, seamless records coordination, and timely report deliveries.
Quality Assurance & Legal Compliance
- Non-Clinical QA: Oversee a Quality Assurance team that reviews reports strictly for completeness, formatting, and administrative clarity (without altering medical opinions).
- HIPAA Compliance: Enforce rigid data security protocols for handling, transferring, and storing sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI).
- State Regulations: Maintain deep knowledge of varied state-level rules governing independent medical exams, subpoenas, and expert witness disclosures.
- Emerging Technology: Be up to date on emerging technologies and be able to supervise both internal and external technical resources to bring cost effective additional value the company’s offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of executive leadership in an IME brokerage, third-party administrator (TPA), insurance claims, or with a legal services vendor.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field (RN, MBA, JD).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the civil litigation life cycle, medical-legal terminology, and personal injury workflows.
- Tech Literacy: High proficiency with secure file transfers (SFTP), CRM platforms, and medical case management systems.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
