Our Process for Interviewing:
Our interview process is designed to ensure a mutual fit. It includes:
- Initial Screening: Review of applications, resumes, and predictive index surveys (see below for details).
- Video Interview: If requested, you will record and send us a video of your answers to a variety of questions.
- First Interview: A conversation to understand your skills, experience and core values.
- Second Interview: A deeper dive into your fit with our core values and role specifics. Meet the partners.
- Additional interviews as needed
- Skill Evaluation: We will give you a sample task to complete.
- Final Evaluation: Decision-making and offer presentation.

One Stop Tax Strategists is co-founded by two sisters Tiffany and Melanie, inspired by their father Byron, a CPA with over 40 years of experience. Our company specializes in creative tax planning, preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll for entrepreneurs around the USA. Our client base is made up of about 70% real estate investors, spread across multiple US states. We are committed to helping our clients pay the least tax legally possible, enabling them to fund their dreams.

The Best Applicant Will Be:
We are seeking a highly skilled CPA or Enrolled Agent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience (and specific real estate tax experience as bonus), who thrives in a professional, structured, and remote work environment. The ideal candidate is disciplined, detail-driven, sincere, and precise, bringing a strong sense of accountability to their work. Start Day/Time:
Soonest is preferred, but we understand if you need to start sometime in August. We are looking for the right person, not the first person.
Role of Posting and Tasks:
Required Qualifications
- Active PTIN.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tax, bookkeeping, payroll, or client management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and deadline-management skills.
- Proficiency with TaxDome, Lacerte, and QuickBooks Online.
Preferred Qualifications
- EA or CPA designation (or actively pursuing).
- Experience reviewing tax returns and financial statements.
- Experience supporting tax planning engagements.
- Experience in a client-facing advisory role.
- Real Estate tax experience
Role Structure:
- This is a client-facing position.
- This is a non-supervising position.
Position Summary:
- Support the Senior Client Manager in managing client relationships and service delivery.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Review completed work and coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Assist with tax planning, client advisory services, and prospective client engagements.
- Maintain a high standard of client service across tax, bookkeeping, and payroll engagements.
Core Responsibilites:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Understand each client's goals, entities, and tax situation.
- Conduct client meetings, calls, and correspondence.
- Set and manage client expectations regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Respond to client communications within 24 hours.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Review prior-year tax returns and financial statements.
- Assist in developing and validating tax planning strategies.
- Provide proactive tax planning insights within scope.
- Present tax-saving opportunities and recommendations to clients.
- Escalate complex technical matters to reviewers or partners.
Sales Support & Prospective Clients
- Assist with the sales process for prospective clients.
- Participate in initial tax plan presentations.
- Review proposals within 48 hours for accuracy and feasibility.
- Support the sales team with tax-related questions.
- Coordinate proposal delivery and follow-up activities.
Review & Client Deliverables
- Review completed returns and deliverables prepared by the production team.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and client-specific considerations.
- Present completed returns and recommendations to clients.
- Address post-delivery questions and follow-up items.
- Sign final returns as the paid preparer.
Review & Client Delivery
- Review completed returns and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and client-specific context before delivery.
- Present and explain completed returns, results, and recommendations to clients.
- Address client questions and follow-ups after delivery.
- Sign final returns as the paid preparer before they are sent for client signature.
Engagement & Deadline Management
- Track filing deadlines, extensions, estimated payments, and recurring engagements.
- Monitor engagement status and production progress.
- Keep clients informed regarding timelines and progress.
- Escalate at-risk engagements to the Senior Client Manager.
- Proactively manage extension filings and deadline-related communications.
Team Collaboration & Internal Coordination
Senior Client Manager
- Attend weekly one-on-one meetings.
- Receive coaching, feedback, and direction.
- Escalate client concerns and engagement risks.
Production Team
- Participate in daily huddles.
- Coordinate priorities and delivery timelines.
- Review completed work and communicate corrections when necessary.
Administrative Team
- Coordinate onboarding and engagement transitions.
- Participate in onboarding calls when needed.
- Provide client context and special instructions.
- Confirm engagements are ready for production.
- Systems & Documentation
- Maintain client records in TaxDome, Lacerte, and QuickBooks Online.
- Document client interactions and decisions.
- Update engagement statuses and notes.
- Manage client portal access and document organization.
What this role does NOT do:
- Does not directly manage or supervise employees.
- Does not own the production workflow, preparer assignments, or capacity planning.
- Does not own client intake, onboarding, or missing-item follow-up processes.
- Does not routinely perform tax preparation work, except during peak capacity periods when needed.
Compensation:
- Full-time, base salary ranges from $100,000-$120,000.
