Position overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and facility operations across the company's food manufacturing campus. This position oversees the preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all production equipment, utilities, buildings, warehouse, retail store, offices, and grounds to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
This role is responsible for managing the maintenance team, coordinating capital improvement projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and contractor activities while maintaining compliance with food safety, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable troubleshooting equipment on the production floor as planning large capital projects and managing departmental operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of all production equipment, packaging equipment, utilities, refrigeration systems, compressed air, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Ensure timely response to equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and work orders.
Ensure facilities remain clean, safe, operational, and compliant with all applicable regulations.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians.
- Assign daily work priorities and manage department workload.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, GMP, and company safety standards.
- Ensure maintenance activities support NSF, HACCP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage contractor safety and permit programs.
- Participate in safety committees, audits, and inspections.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, productivity, energy efficiency, and maintenance processes.
- Analyze maintenance metrics including downtime, preventative maintenance completion, and equipment reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Five to ten years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supervising maintenance personnel.
- Experience managing capital projects and equipment installations.
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- Experience reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to walk production floors for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and access rooftops or elevated platforms as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures typical of food manufacturing environments.
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations outside normal business hours when necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
