Job Summary**
BP Lubricants USA Inc. is seeking an Associate Technician to contribute to the development and optimization of cutting-edge lubricant technologies. This role involves supporting research and development initiatives, conducting experiments, and collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to drive innovation in the lubricants sector.
Job Responsibilities**
- Assist in the design and execution of experiments, including the preparation of samples and operation of laboratory equipment.
- Collect, record, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Contribute to the development of novel processes and new process technology scale-up, applying principles of bioprocess design and process safety engineering.
- Support technoeconomic evaluations of new processes and products, considering life cycle and circularity principles.
- Participate in multi-physics modelling and thermophysical modelling to understand and predict material behavior.
- Communicate experimental results and findings effectively through written reports and presentations.
- Collaborate actively in group problem-solving sessions, bringing to bear analytical thinking to address technical challenges.
- Contribute to scientific publications and internal technical reports.
- Embrace thought leadership by staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific rigor.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with experimental design and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating group problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with concepts related to life cycle and circularity is a plus.
- Exposure to multi-physics modelling, thermophysical modelling, or bioprocess design is desirable.
- Understanding of new process technology scale-up and novel process development principles.
- Knowledge of process safety engineering principles.
- A keen interest in science and technology leadership.
- Experience with scientific publication is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of technoeconomic evaluation of processes and products.
