Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid – at least 1 day onsite per week)

Salary Pay Range and Other Compensation: $70/hour

Employment Type: Contract (12 months)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the development of scalable, high-performance systems in a modern, service-oriented environment. This role will play a key part in designing and building distributed applications while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly collaborative, and passionate about building impactful solutions in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the development, testing, and deployment of systems and services

*
Contribute to technical architecture decisions and system design

*
Translate product requirements into user stories and scalable technical solutions

*
Build and maintain highly available, scalable services in production environments

*
Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture

*
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, project leads, and engineers

*
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement efforts

*
Drive innovation by proposing new ideas, technologies, and initiatives

Qualifications:
*
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

*
4+ years of professional software development experience

*
2+ years of experience with Java, Kotlin, or Scala

*
Experience working with modern tech stacks and service-oriented or microservices architecture

*
Strong understanding of relational databases and ORMs (e.g., PostgreSQL)

*
Experience building and maintaining scalable, distributed systems

*
Proven ability to take ownership of projects from concept through delivery

*
Strong collaboration skills with experience in agile or team-based development environments

Preferred Qualifications:
*
Experience with technologies such as Spring, React, Kubernetes, or similar frameworks

*
Familiarity with Kafka, Docker, or POSIX systems

*
Full-stack development experience (frontend or backend)

*
Experience building or supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems

*
Interest in financial technology or personal finance
