Senior Energy Analyst (Senior Energy Modeler) – Orange, CA

VCA Green is looking for a Senior Energy Analyst to join our sustainability consulting team in our Orange office. In this role, you will lead energy modeling efforts for residential and commercial buildings while helping guide and support the Sustainability Analyst team.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality energy models, supporting compliance with California Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and LEED, and contributing to building performance and sustainability initiatives across a wide range of projects.

This position is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in building energy modeling who also enjoys mentoring team members, coordinating project workflows, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to improve building performance and energy efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and review energy models for residential and commercial buildings using tools such as Ekotrope, EnergyPro, CBECC, IES-VE, EnergyPlus, or similar
• Analyze HVAC systems, building envelope performance, lighting, and water heating systems
• Lead or support Title 24 compliance, ASHRAE energy modeling, and LEED-related energy analysis
• Serve as a liaison between the Sustainability Analyst team and the energy modeling function
• Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and support to junior analysts and modelers
• Collaborate with internal project teams and clients to identify and implement energy efficiency strategies
• Support project documentation, compliance reporting, and sustainability deliverables as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in energy modeling or building performance analysis
• Experience mentoring, managing, or supporting junior team members preferred
• Strong familiarity with California Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IECC, and green building compliance
• Hands-on experience with IES-VE, EnergyPro, CBECC, EnergyPlus, Ekotrope, or similar modeling tools
• Experience with energy code analysis, building performance modeling, and compliance documentation
• ASHRAE BEMP (Building Energy Modeling Professional) certification strongly preferred
• CEA certification is a plus (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
