Job Description

The Enterprise Systems Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex enterprise technology initiatives that support UCSF’s administrative systems ecosystem, including Oracle Cloud ERP and enterprise web platforms. This role applies advanced project management methodologies and technical expertise to plan, execute, and deliver projects that have significant organizational impact across UCSF and UCSF Health.

The Project Manager will oversee Oracle Cloud ERP implementation, enhancement, and release management initiatives, while managing projects involving enterprise web systems, custom application development, reporting, integrations, middleware, and related enterprise technologies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned with organizational quality standards.

Working closely with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders, the Enterprise Systems Technical Project Manager will drive project planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and post-deployment support activities. The successful candidate will possess extensive Oracle Cloud ERP experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage complex cross-functional programs in a dynamic healthcare and higher education environment.

Work Schedule: Flexible work arrangement with onsite presence required three (3) days per week at UCSF Mission Bay Campus.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing enterprise application projects.
• Minimum 5 years of related technical project management experience.
• Expert knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and frameworks with demonstrated success delivering large-scale enterprise programs.
• Proven experience leading Oracle Cloud ERP implementations, enhancements, and release management initiatives, including HCM, Finance, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules.
• Experience managing hybrid enterprise portfolios that include:
• ERP platforms
• Enterprise web and portal solutions (such as Drupal)
• Custom application development projects
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integration strategies, APIs, middleware platforms (such as MuleSoft), and cross-system data flows.
• Experience managing complex system integrations, data migrations, reporting solutions, and enterprise application extensions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, quality, and stakeholder expectations across large, cross-functional teams.
• Experience utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Ability to drive product-oriented delivery through backlog management, prioritization frameworks, and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong risk management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proven leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and executive communication skills.
• Experience managing third-party vendors, consulting partners, and system integrators.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business, operational, and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Additional professional project management or technology certifications.
• Experience presenting project updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Experience supporting enterprise systems within healthcare, higher education, or large complex organizations.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP enterprise ecosystems and related business processes.
