Position Overview

Round Barn Estate is seeking energetic, friendly, and highly organized Host/Food Runners to join our hospitality team. As a high-volume outdoor destination featuring wine, beer, spirits, food, live entertainment, and special events, this role plays an important part in creating a smooth and welcoming guest experience.

The Host/Food Runner position combines guest-facing hospitality with fast-paced operational support. Team members may greet and direct guests, assist with seating and guest flow, deliver food accurately and efficiently, maintain service areas, and support servers and other team members throughout the shift.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, stay calm under pressure, and thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide a positive first impression of Round Barn Estate.
• Assist with guest seating, table management, and overall guest flow as directed.
• Provide guests with basic information regarding dining, beverages, events, and property amenities.
• Communicate wait times and seating expectations clearly and professionally.
• Accurately deliver food orders from the kitchen or food service areas to guests.
• Verify food items and table locations before delivery to help ensure order accuracy.
• Assist servers with clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables and guest areas.
• Monitor dining and service areas for cleanliness, organization, and guest needs.
• Help maintain clean and organized entrances, host areas, patios, and service stations.
• Refill water, deliver condiments, utensils, and other service items as needed.
• Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, managers, and other team members.
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency during high-volume service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, setup, breakdown, and side-work duties.
• Support concerts, special events, and peak-volume operations as assigned.
• Help create the energetic, welcoming atmosphere that defines the Round Barn Estate guest experience.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, host, food runner, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused demeanor.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong teamwork mentality and willingness to assist wherever needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, concerts, and special events.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position primarily operates in a fast-paced, high-volume outdoor hospitality environment. Team members should be prepared to work in varying seasonal weather conditions, including heat, sun, humidity, wind, and cooler temperatures.

The position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the property.
• Carry multiple plates, trays, beverages, and service supplies safely.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Navigate crowded dining and service areas safely and efficiently.
• Move quickly between indoor and outdoor service areas.
• Maintain professionalism, energy, and attention to detail during prolonged periods of high guest volume.

Pay: $13.73 - $30.00 per hour
