Job Announcement: Commercial Sales Manager
We are currently looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to lead and grow our commercial sales organization across our fuel, lubricants, cardlock, fleet fueling, and wholesale business lines. As the Commercial Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, business development, strategic account growth, pricing strategy, forecasting, and bid management while leading a high-performing sales team. Your expertise in commercial sales leadership, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential in achieving revenue and margin goals, strengthening customer partnerships, and supporting the company's long-term growth strategy.
Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial sales team supporting fuels, fleet fueling, lubricants, cardlock, and wholesale fuel programs.
· Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and individual development plans for sales representatives.
· Conduct regular pipeline reviews, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions to drive continuous improvement.
· Foster a collaborative, customer-focused sales culture centered on profitable growth, operational excellence, and customer retention.
Commercial Growth Strategy
· Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth across all commercial business lines.
· Expand market share through new customer acquisition, account penetration, and increased share of wallet within existing accounts.
· Identify emerging market opportunities, target customer segments, and competitive growth strategies to support long-term business objectives.
Sales Operations & Commercial Enablement
· Partner with the Marketing & Sales Enablement Manager to develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized sales processes, tools, and commercial best practices.
· Collaborate on the creation and execution of sales playbooks, KPI dashboards, CRM standards, forecasting methodologies, bid management processes, account planning frameworks, and sales collateral.
· Establish scalable commercial operating procedures that improve sales consistency, visibility, accountability, and overall organizational effectiveness.
· Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of the commercial sales team.
Account Management & Cross-Selling
· Ensure consistent execution of the Primary Account Ownership Model across all commercial accounts.
· Promote cross-selling opportunities among delivered fuels, fleet fueling, lubricants, cardlock, and wholesale fuel services.
· Facilitate collaboration between regional sales representatives and business line specialists to maximize customer value and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Pricing Strategy, Margin Management & Bid Governance
· Maintain pricing discipline while protecting profitability and margin performance across all business lines.
· Lead the development, review, and governance of bids for public agencies, commercial accounts, and strategic volume opportunities.
· Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Supply, Operations, Finance, and Credit to evaluate pricing strategies and bid opportunities.
· Review and approve pricing exceptions, discount requests, and margin deviations in accordance with company guidelines.
Sales Forecasting & CRM Management
· Champion CRM utilization by ensuring consistent sales processes, opportunity management, and pipeline visibility.
· Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
· Ensure customer referrals, sales opportunities, account activities, and customer interactions are documented accurately and consistently within the CRM system.
Requirements:
· 7+ years of experience in fuel, petroleum marketing, lubricants, or commercial energy sales.
· 3+ years of sales leadership or commercial management experience preferred.
· Strong knowledge of fleet fueling, tank wagon delivery, bulk fuels, lubricants, cardlock, and wholesale fuel programs.
· Experience with pricing strategy, bid/RFP management, and strategic account development.
· Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales analytics.
· Proven ability to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and sales team performance.
Schedule:
· Full-time position with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday.
· Regular travel to company locations, customer sites, and regional operations facilities is required to support sales activities, customer relationships, and team development.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours as business needs require, including customer events, bid deadlines, and operational support.
Compensation:
· Exempt position
· Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
