Position Summary
Ground-floor startup opportunity to join a high-performing team with successful startup and scale-up track record, with strong five-year growth trajectory, and multi-year funding lock in. The Sr. Manager, Warehouse Management and Automation Lead will work closely with all management and play a key role in the firm’s rapid growth trajectory and will participate in a quarterly performance incentive program.
They will own warehouse management, operations, logistics, and automation initiatives with end-to-end responsibility for execution and results. The ideal candidate will have a driving passion for creating next generation operational and workforce management methods within the Over-The-Counter (OTC) Health Product vertical. A driven, high character and with the confidence to reinvent significant aspects of the end-to-end processes within the growing $90B OTC Health Industry.
This key leader will have access to the budget necessary (via simplified ROI business case) to build highly automated end-to-end operations from the ground up, through strategic technology, logistics and infrastructure investments to maximize efficiency, requiring a smaller staff of higher skilled warehouse associates.
This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, achieving high customer satisfaction in partnership with executive leadership, inventory accuracy, maximizing Warehouse Management System (WMS) utilization, developing and training warehouse leadership and teams, and implementing sustainable process improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, analytical, logistics/project management skills and experience, bring proven expertise in warehouse assessments, inventory management, WMS implementation, workflow optimization, and leadership development — directly supporting scalable, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations.
Required: 6–8 years of progressive experience and “break the mold” of some of the most common tenets of warehouse operations. Excited to challenge the notion of “30% time wasted”, and reinvent from the ground up, garnering a comparable % in the “40% - 50%+ range waste of fully burned cost”.
Responsibilities Include
Operational Assessment & Process Optimization
● Evaluate and continuously improve current warehouse workflows, including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
● Identify and eliminate inefficiencies impacting productivity, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and labor utilization.
● Conduct regular operational reviews and provide actionable recommendations for warehouse organization, layout, and process standardization.
● Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), KPIs, and performance metrics to drive accountability and measurable results.
Inventory Management & Accuracy
● Oversee physical inventory verification, cycle counting, discrepancy identification, and reconciliation.
● Ensure accurate SKU validation and data integrity across inventory records.
● Manage initial and ongoing inventory uploads, imports, and maintenance within the WMS platform.
● Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective actions and preventive controls.
WMS Implementation, Utilization & Optimization
● Serve as the primary owner of WMS configuration, adoption, and optimization.
● Align warehouse processes with system capabilities and drive full user adoption.
● Provide ongoing training, troubleshooting, and best-practice guidance on WMS functionality.
● Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, and visibility tools for inventory, location management, and operational performance.
Leadership Training & Team Development
● Train, coach, and develop warehouse management staff and supervisors on operational best practices.
● Cover key leadership topics including daily operations management, labor planning and scheduling, inventory management, root cause analysis, problem-solving, team accountability, performance management, and warehouse safety/compliance fundamentals.
● Establish clear performance expectations, accountability metrics, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
● Support system configuration reviews, user permissions, process governance, and data integrity initiatives.
● Lead operational cleanup, standardization, and long-term scalability projects.
● Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure warehouse processes support overall business goals.
● Promote and enforce safety, compliance, and quality standards at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
● 6-8 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations management, preferably in distribution, logistics, or e-commerce environments, 8-12+ years total
● Strong background in WMS implementation, configuration, and optimization (experience with common platforms preferred)
● Proven track record in physical inventory management, cycle counting, and achieving high inventory accuracy
● Demonstrated success leading operational assessments, process mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives
● Expert knowledge of ShipHero WMS and SaaS fulfillment, WMS utilization strategies for scalable fulfillment
● Automation & Process Standardization, development of all SOP’s, including Operational, Governance, MSDS, from the ground
● Experience building, restructuring, and leading Lean process improvement initiatives
● DTC/B2B E-Commerce fulfillment, large carrier (FedEx/UPS) integrations, Warehouse and Professional Services Consulting across multiple industries
● Experience training and developing warehouse leadership teams on best practices and performance management.
Preferred:
o Lean/Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications.
o Hands-on experience with labor planning, KPI development, and SOP creation.
o Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
