Mid-Level Electrical Engineer

Role:
The Mid-Level Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and technical execution of electrical systems for a variety of commercial projects from concept through construction. This role works independently under limited supervision while collaborating with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients to deliver innovative, code-compliant, and high-quality electrical designs. The position requires strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Design and coordinate electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and mixed-use projects.
- Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Perform engineering studies, system evaluations, and schematic designs for new and existing facilities.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and outside consultants throughout all phases of a project.
- Perform field investigations, document existing conditions, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Review project schedules and budgets to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Participate in client meetings and present engineering solutions and recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation.
- Review shop drawings, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and conduct site observations during construction.
- Ensure project documentation complies with applicable electrical codes, standards, and LK Architecture quality expectations.
Design & Technical Expectations:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, building systems, and applicable codes.
- Independently solve complex engineering challenges and develop practical design solutions.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Perform quality control reviews of engineering documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment while consulting senior leadership on complex or unique issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum of 5years of electrical engineering experience in consulting engineering or the AEC industry.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), energy codes, and applicable building codes.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and budgets.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with electrical design software such as EasyPower, Visual Lighting, AGi32, SKM, ETAP, Comcheck, Cummins PowerSuite, or similar engineering programs.
- Experience designing power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Experience performing construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) test
