Salary Range: $111,751.00 - $140,000. This is an exempt (salary) position. Please note pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant’s salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for the job.

The Department of Community Resources (DCR) through its Community Resource Center, supports the core departments of Mecklenburg County Health and Human Services (HHS) in doing their business through an integrated service delivery model of subject-matter experts from each core department and community partners who provide services to County residents in our HHS Community Resource Center. In addition, DCR is responsible for administering Child Support Services, Economic Services, MeckSuccess, HOMES, and Unified Workforce Development programs, as well as Integrated Health and Human Services Mail Services.
Position Specific Information
This is a senior position in the Department of Community Resources and will work with the Senior Executive Team on departmental projects as assigned. This position will need to have knowledge of social service policies and their impact on large County agencies and participants/residents. Principles and techniques of modern office management and procedures. Statistical concepts and methods along with Federal legislation and court decisions that impact Health & Human Services.

Position Summary
A Sr Strategy & Planning Manager in human services acts as a strategic partner, thought leader, and operational champion for executive leadership, driving strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional projects, streamlining communications, overseeing critical operations, and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission to improve community well-being and service delivery. They handle priority management, project oversight, stakeholder liaison (Board, staff, external partners), and operational improvements, freeing executive leadership to focus on high-level strategy, making them essential for driving impact in complex social service environments.

Minimum of six years of experience in the assigned area of responsibility.
